PNG for transparent artwork
PNG can retain supported TIFF alpha channels without the white background required by JPG. The checkerboard is only a preview aid. Output PNG compression is lossless for the converted 8-bit result.
Keep the transparency. Share the result.
Turn a supported TIFF page into a PNG for the web or your next design. Check transparent edges against the preview before downloading.

The same 600 × 400 unprofiled RGB16 gradient can be converted to an 8-bit PNG. PNG compresses the converted result without loss, but the original 16-bit precision is reduced during conversion.
| Property | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Pixel dimensions | 600 × 400 | 600 × 400 |
| Bits per color channel | 16-bit integer | 8-bit |
| Color interpretation | Unprofiled RGB, treated as sRGB | sRGB |
| Precision preservation | 16-bit source samples | Reduced to 8-bit samples |
Verification: compare TIFF BitsPerSample with the PNG IHDR bit depth. Keep the original TIFF for archival or high-precision work. This is a synthetic format example.

Classic RGB and grayscale TIFF with 8-bit or 16-bit integers and 32-bit floats. Supported strip and tile layouts include uncompressed, LZW, Deflate and PackBits data. Select up to 20 pages individually.
Embedded RGB ICC profiles are converted to sRGB. Output is 8-bit, so this is not a lossless 16-bit/32-bit TIFF archival workflow. CMYK, Lab, bilevel/fax, BigTIFF, layered files and SubIFDs are not supported.
Supported alpha channels are preserved. PNG output can remain transparent; checkerboard squares in the preview are not included in the download.
PNG compression is lossless, but converting high-depth TIFF data to 8-bit or converting an ICC color profile can change source samples. Keep your original for print, archival or high-precision work.
Up to 80 MiB per TIFF, 24 megapixels per selected page and 20 pages. Browser and device memory can impose lower practical limits. Unsupported variants produce an error rather than a guessed conversion.
